EXHIBITION IN JAPAN - a select number of pieces from the Star Wars: Visions collection, owned by
George Lucas, were featured in an exhibit in Japan. Ciruelo's painting Tattooine is within the selection.
The exhibit was held at the Mori Arts Center in Tokyo in April, 2015.
TATTOOINE is the title for this piece painted by Ciruelo. The original is a 22"x 28" canvas painted with oils.
Star Wars: Visions is a book of artwork from
Abrams Books released on November 1, 2010.
It contains 120 full-color as well as black-and white
paintings inspired by the Star Wars saga from more
than 100 renowned artists and features a foreword
by George Lucas as well as an introduction by
Jonathan W. Rinzler. Because of the large number
of images, there is also a bigger, more expensive,
limited special edition of the book released on
October 1 with more than 40 additional illustrations
as well as "behind the scenes" pictures, processes
and sketches of the contributors and five hand-signed,
archival-quality 10 x 12" giclé prints.
Deluxe 240 page edition housed in a lush clamshell case.

Ciruelo has worked in many ocassions for George Lucas since 1993. One of those projects was the creation of covers for the Shadow Chronicles trilogy. Those books are a sequel for the movie Willow, produced by G.Lucas in 1987.

Lucasfilm also hired Ciruelo in 2009 for the creation of two oil paintings in relation to the movie THX 1138, the first film directed by George Lucas back in 1969.

THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
The six original artworks created by Ciruelo for the above mentioned projects were acquired
by George Lucas for his personal collection.
This collection will be exhibited in a museum
called The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art that is being built in the city of Los Angeles.
The opening is planned for the year 2023.
